Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, better popularly known as Ari Lennox, is an American music producer and vocalist from Washington, D.C., who was the first woman to become a member of J. Cole's Dreamville Records record label. She dropped her debut EP on the label on October 21 of 2016, entitled Pho, and she began gaining recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. The release date was May 2019. Ari Lennox started uploading her music via the internet in 2012 as she launched her debut mixtape Five Finger Discount and debut EP Ariography in the year 2013. She continued to upload her songs online throughout 2014, including the independently-released single Bound. In 2015, she appeared on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album with the track Sweat It Out 21st July. The following year, her songs were circulating among the Dreamville group as J. Cole wanted her to join him in creating some possible references for Rihanna. On December 8 it was announced that she was officially signed by Dreamville Records. The release album Revenge of the Dreamers II She was on the song Backseat along with Cozz. In October 2016 she debuted her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and also performed as the opener on the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. In 2018, she was able to guest feature on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang and EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox's album debut Shea Butter Baby was released on July 16, 2018. First single, Whipped Cream From the album dropped on in September 5th, 2018, accompanied by a the music video. The second single she released was Grampa on the 9th November. In November, 13 the singer released two new singles titled One and Pdigree. One as well as Pdigree. They then collaborated to the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track entitled Shea Butter Baby on November 16, and it was released as a single on February 26th, 2019 to accompany her debut album with the same title. In February of 2019 she released a music video released to accompany the track. It has already received more than three million viewers on YouTube during its initial week. In December of 2018, she was part of The From East Atlanta With Love Tour together with 6LACK.
